White Fire OG Strain: The WiFi OG Explained
The White Fire OG strain — almost everyone calls it WiFi OG — is OG Raskal Genetics' cross of Fire OG and The White. The White brings the resin: WiFi buds are so frosted that AllBud says they "look like small mountains covered with snow." Fire OG brings the flavor and the punch: sour lemon, earth and diesel on the nose, and a focused, uplifted high with a relaxed OG Kush body underneath. It belongs in the gassy, frosty corner of our THCA flower collection.
It's also one of the most argued-about classics in the OG family. Is it a sativa or an indica? Is it 19% THC or 28%? Is "White Fire" the same plant as "WiFi OG"? Below: the lineage and the breeder, the real potency numbers, the terpenes, how the high unfolds, how to use it, how to grow it, and how to judge a bag.
A 360° look at White Fire OG's frosty buds.

White Fire OG Strain Genetics & Lineage
- Type: Hybrid, and nobody agrees on the lean. The breeder's SeedFinder listing says 60% sativa / 40% indica; AllBud says 60% indica / 40% sativa; Leafly simply calls it a hybrid. The reported effects — focused, uplifted, happy — read sativa-leaning.
- Ancestry: Fire OG × The White. SeedFinder lists the Fire side as the "Fire" cut of OG Kush; Cannigma describes Fire OG as SFV OG Kush × OG Kush. The White is an older, resin-heavy hybrid of unknown parentage.
- Breeder: OG Raskal Genetics of Southern California — credited by SeedFinder, Cannigma and East Coast growers such as Theory Wellness.
- THC: Cannigma reports a 19% lab average; Leafly lists 22%; AllBud 22–28%.
- CBD: Negligible — Cannigma averages 0.13% CBD. Leafly lists about 1% CBG; Cannigma 0.56%.
- Aliases: WiFi OG, WiFi, White Fire, WiFi Kush. The breeder's own listing is simply "White Fire."
How WiFi was made
Per the breeder description on SeedFinder, OG Raskal crossed a Fire OG Kush clone with a reversed clone of The White — a clone-to-clone cross rather than a seed hunt. The goal was obvious: keep Fire OG's sour, fuel-heavy flavor and potency, and graft on The White's famously thick resin. The breeder's own pitch is short: "She has the look, yield and smell," and "The WIFI has quickly become a staple in most gardens."
Denver's Westword dates WiFi to around the early 2000s and calls it a case of taking "two semi-popular strains and creating something better." Its writer notes The White is fairly bland on its own in smell and flavor — the sharp soil, cedar and citrus nose comes from the Fire OG side.
White Fire OG vs "White Fire" vs "WiFi 43"
- White Fire / WiFi / WiFi OG / White Fire OG: the same OG Raskal cross under different menu names. AllBud even keeps separate pages for "White Fire," "White Fire OG" and "Wifi OG" with different indica/sativa splits — a database quirk, not three strains.
- White Fire Alien OG: a different OG Raskal cross — The White × Fire Alien Kush.
- WiFi 43 (W43): a WiFi offspring listed on Leafly, not the original.
WiFi's family tree
WiFi became a breeding parent in its own right. Leafly lists White Durban (WiFi × Durban Poison) as an offspring, and Cannigma names Higher Primate (WiFi × Wookie), Blackfire (WiFi × Afghani) and Jungle Apples (WiFi × Sour Apple). Its Fire OG parent is also behind Animal Cookies.
White Fire OG Terpene Profile
Leafly lists myrcene as the dominant terpene, followed by limonene and caryophyllene. Cannigma's lab averages put real numbers on it: myrcene 0.73%, limonene 0.47%, humulene 0.33% and caryophyllene 0.29%. That's a classic OG pattern — an earthy, musky base, a sour citrus top, and a peppery, woody finish.
Terpene Profile — Relative Intensity
Myrcene — earthy, musky, the relaxed body
Limonene — sour lemon, the uplifted mood
Humulene — woody, earthy dryness
Caryophyllene — pepper and fuel on the exhale
Relative profile based on Cannigma's lab averages for White Fire OG (myrcene 0.73%, limonene 0.47%, humulene 0.33%, caryophyllene 0.29%). Individual batches vary.
- Myrcene: Earthy and musky — the base of the OG funk and the source of the relaxed body that builds with dose.
- Limonene: The sour lemon-lime top note growers describe, and a driver of the happy, uplifted onset.
- Humulene: Woody and dry, part of the "earthy, pungent, woody" profile Leafly's reviewers report.
- Caryophyllene: The pepper and fuel on the exhale — AllBud lists "peppery" among its top flavors.
Some cuts also show pinene, which is where the fresh pine note reviewers mention comes from.
Appearance
This is the part of WiFi everyone remembers. The White's resin genes coat the buds so heavily they look white from across the room — AllBud's "small mountains covered with snow." Underneath: dense, chunky, lime-to-dark-green buds with thin orange pistils. Westword describes "bulbous," fist-shaped nugs, sometimes with a thumb sticking out, and notes that depending on the cut WiFi can resemble Gorilla Glue or Chemdawg. It's sticky to handle — one AllBud reviewer complained it "ruins scissors" at trim time.
Aroma and Flavor
Crack a jar and you get sour, earthy and pungent first, then lemon and diesel. AllBud compares the nose to Sour Diesel with a touch of citrus; Westword traces it to Fire OG's "sharp soil, cedar and citrus." Grind it and the fuel and pine get louder. On the inhale it's sweet, earthy and lemony; the exhale is diesel, pepper and wood. Some cuts carry a fresh, minty note — Westword calls the flavor "minty and fresh," and a Leafly reviewer describes it as skunky "with a hint of mint." Theory Wellness lists lemon, lime, earth, fuel and floral for its phenotype.
Recreational Effects
WiFi is a clear-headed OG — the rare one that works during the day. On Leafly, with more than 1,000 ratings, the top effects are:
- Focused: the headline effect. Consumers report it helps them lock in on work or a project.
- Uplifted: a quick lift in mood and energy, closer to a sativa than a typical OG.
- Happy: a steady, easygoing euphoria rather than a racy one.
- Creative and relaxed: AllBud's top effects add creative, euphoric and relaxing — the OG body is there, just not front and center.
Westword's writer says that despite being "slightly more indica" on paper, WiFi has been "more stimulating than sedating," rarely causing drowsiness unless you smoke a lot — and calls it a favorite daytime strain. That's also where reviews split: some people report focus and energy, others report couch-lock and munchies. Dose is usually the difference.
How the high unfolds: onset, peak and duration
- First 5–10 minutes: a fast lift behind the eyes and a brighter mood.
- 15–60 minutes: the peak — focused, happy and talkative, with the body loosening up.
- 1–3 hours: a gradual settle. Small doses stay functional; big doses drift toward the couch and the fridge.

How Strong Is White Fire OG?
Strong, but not the record-breaker some menus suggest. The numbers depend heavily on the source and the cut:
- Cannigma (lab averages): 19% THC, 0.56% CBG, 0.13% CBD.
- Leafly: 22% THC, about 1% CBG — "higher than average."
- Westword: THC "in the low 20s."
- AllBud: 22–28%, with one reviewer reporting nearly 30% THCA and 4.5% terpenes on a single batch.
So a realistic range is high teens to mid-20s, with standout batches higher. Leafly recommends it for experienced consumers; Westword says newcomers can handle it if they start small. The reason it feels stronger than its average number is the clean, fast onset — WiFi hits you in the head first, so it's easy to take a second hit before the first has landed.
THCA flower is labeled differently from dispensary flower: the lab reports THCA, which converts to THC when heated, plus a small amount of delta-9 THC. When you compare a White Fire OG batch against the 19–28% range above, compare total THC on the COA, not the headline number — our guide on how to read a THCA flower COA walks through the math.
White Fire OG vs Similar Strains
- vs Fire OG: the parent. Fire OG is heavier, more indica-leaning and more sedating; WiFi is frostier, brighter and more functional.
- vs OG Kush: the grandparent. Same lemon-earth-fuel DNA, but WiFi has more resin and a clearer, more focused head.
- vs SFV OG and Tahoe OG: fellow OG Kush cuts. SFV is the brighter, piney one; Tahoe is the heavier nighttime OG. WiFi sits between them.
- vs White Widow: both are "white" for the same reason — a heavy trichome coat. White Widow is earthier and less gassy.
- vs Gorilla Glue and Chemdawg: Westword's lookalikes. All three are sticky, gassy and potent; Gorilla Glue is the heaviest of the group.
- vs Permanent Marker: not an OG — it's a modern (Biscotti × Sherb Bx) × Jealousy hybrid with a loud candy, floral and gas nose instead of sour lemon-diesel. It's our closest match on potency, frost and gas, not on flavor. If you want the fuel-and-earth side, Mule Fuel (GMO Cookies × Lurch) is gassier and earthier — but heavier, with less of WiFi's daytime lift.
Who White Fire OG Is (and Isn't) For
Good fit: OG fans who want a daytime option; people who like sour, gassy flavors; anyone who wants focus and mood without a full-body knockout at moderate doses.
Poor fit: brand-new consumers, anyone prone to THC anxiety ("anxious" is one of Leafly's top negatives), and people looking for a dedicated sleep strain — WiFi only gets sleepy when you overdo it.
How to Use White Fire OG THCA Flower — and How Much
THCA has to be heated to do anything. Raw, it isn't intoxicating; heat converts it to THC (decarboxylation), which is why the method matters as much as the strain.
- Smoking (joint, pipe, bong): the fastest onset. Take one or two small hits, then wait 10–15 minutes before deciding on more.
- Dry-herb vaporizer: the best way to taste the sour lemon under the fuel. Around 350–370°F keeps the limonene bright; 390–410°F brings out the peppery OG weight.
- Pre-rolls: the no-prep option — see our THCA pre-rolls.
- Homemade edibles: decarb the flower first. Edibles take 30–120 minutes to kick in and last far longer, so start low and wait the full two hours.
How much? New or occasional users: one small puff, then wait 15–30 minutes — this is a fast, heady strain. Regular users usually find two or three hits gives the full focused, happy arc without tipping into couch-lock. You can always add more; you can't take it back.
Medicinal Benefits
These are uses consumers report on Leafly and AllBud, not established clinical outcomes. Individual response varies with dose, tolerance and chemotype.
- Anxiety: the most-cited reason on Leafly (about 31%) — though "anxious" is also a top-reported negative, so small doses matter.
- Stress: about 30% of Leafly reviewers.
- Low mood: about 29%, consistent with the happy, uplifted effects.
- Fatigue and focus: Westword and AllBud reviewers describe it as a daytime strain that helps them stay on task.
- Appetite and aches: AllBud and Westword note appetite stimulation and body relief, especially at higher doses.

Side Effects and Cautions
- Dry mouth and dry eyes — Leafly's most common complaints.
- Anxiety or paranoia — reported by a minority, usually at high doses or low tolerance.
- Couch-lock and munchies — what "too much WiFi" looks like for many reviewers.
- Dizziness — occasionally reported when overdone.
Is White Fire OG good for sleep? Only at higher doses — at normal amounts it's more focused than sedating. Don't drive after using it, and talk to your doctor first if you take prescription medication, are pregnant or nursing, or have a heart condition.
Is White Fire OG Top Shelf? How to Judge a Good Bag
- Frost you can see. WiFi's whole reputation is the resin. Real cuts look white-washed; plain green buds with a light dusting are a red flag.
- Sour lemon and fuel. One AllBud reviewer bought "WiFi" with no diesel smell at all — phenotype drift or a mislabel. If it smells sweet and fruity, it's probably not WiFi.
- A current third-party COA naming the lab, with THCA, delta-9 and total THC. Treat 30%+ claims without paperwork as marketing. Ours are on the lab results page.
- Density and stickiness. Chunky, dense buds that stick to your fingers; airy, dry nugs mean poor growing or old stock.
- A proper cure — hay or grass smell means it was rushed, and it hides the citrus first.
Growing White Fire OG
WiFi rewards growers who can control heat and humidity. Leafly's grow guide rates it moderate to hard; Cannigma calls it moderate. The breeder says it's a "staple in most gardens" for its look, yield and smell.
- Flowering: about 60–70 days per the breeder (SeedFinder lists ±65 days; AllBud 65); Leafly says 9 weeks; Westword and Cannigma 9–10 weeks.
- Climate: likes it warm — 70–85°F per Leafly and Cannigma, and Westword's grower runs it "just a little below ninety degrees." Leafly's strain page notes it handles up to 88°F with high CO2.
- pH and feeding: prefers slightly acidic conditions — Leafly cites soil pH 5.8–6.0 — and uses more CalMag and nitrogen than most strains.
- Training: stretches hard in the first three weeks of flower. Sea of green or SCROG indoors; top several times outdoors for a bushier plant.
- Yield: high — Westword's grower reports about 1.5 lb per square meter, though not every run gets there.
- Outdoors: October harvest in the Northern Hemisphere. The dense, resinous buds are prone to mold in wet falls, so a greenhouse helps.
