The only THC drink on this list we make ourselves is the coffee — and it ships today. Shop Subculture THC coffee →
Two years ago "THC drinks" meant a dispensary cooler in California. Now there are hemp-derived Delta-9 seltzers at Total Wine, THC spirits on back bars in Texas, and a dozen brands shipping 10mg cans to your door in most of the country. The category has gone from novelty to the fastest-growing segment in cannabis — and the shelf is getting crowded enough that most people's first question is no longer "is this legal?" but "which one is actually good?"
We have a stake in the answer. Subculture, our THC coffee line, spent years pouring cannabis beverages on-premise across our South Florida venues before it joined Diesel Hemp, so we have tasted most of what is on this list at the bar, not just read the labels. We ranked by what matters when you are the one drinking it: dose honesty, onset, how it tastes, what a serving costs, and whether you can actually buy it where you live. Competitor brands are named because a roundup that only lists your own product is an ad.

How to Pick a THC Drink Before You Look at Brands
Four decisions sort the whole shelf. Get these right and the brand almost picks itself.
1. Dose: the strength ladder
- 2–3mg — a microdose. A glass-of-wine feeling, conversational, no couch. Cann, Wynk 2.5, Brēz 2.5, Pamos Microdose.
- 5mg — the standard "one drink." Noticeable, social, still functional for most people. Cycling Frog, Wynk 5, Señorita, Crescent 9 5mg.
- 10mg — a full adult serving and the edible-industry standard dose. Subculture, Daizy's, Cantrip 10, Brēz 10, Uncle Arnie's hemp 10. New to THC? Drink half.
- 25–100mg — experienced users only. Crescent 9 50mg, Uncle Arnie's 100mg, St. Ides 100mg. These are a bottle to split or sip across an evening, not a can to finish.
2. Format: seltzer, soda, tonic, spirit or coffee
Seltzers are the default — light, low-calorie, easy to drink two of (which is the risk). Sodas taste the most like a normal drink and carry sugar. Social tonics (Cann, Brēz) lean on botanicals and often add CBD or mushrooms. Spirits and aperitifs (Nowadays, Pamos, Artet) are for people who miss the cocktail ritual and want to mix. THC coffee is its own category: caffeine plus Delta-9 for a lift that keeps you switched on instead of sinking you — the only format built for the first half of the day.
3. Onset: why drinks hit faster than gummies
Every brand on this list uses water-soluble (nano-emulsified) THC. Instead of being locked in a fat that has to be digested, the THC is dispersed through the liquid and starts absorbing through the mouth and upper GI tract. Expect first effects in 10–20 minutes and a peak around 45–60, with most drinks tapering by the two-hour mark. That is the entire appeal over a gummy: you can feel where you are before you decide on a second.
4. Hemp-derived vs dispensary
Hemp-derived Delta-9 drinks contain no more than 0.3% THC by dry weight, which keeps them inside the 2018 Farm Bill definition of hemp and lets them ship to most states and sit in liquor stores. Dispensary drinks are regulated state cannabis — higher doses, no shipping, legal states only. Same molecule. The difference is the supply chain and the dose ceiling.
The Best THC Drinks of 2026, Ranked
#1 — Subculture THC Coffee: Best THC Coffee and Best Overall
Yes, it is ours. It is also the only drink on this list that solves a problem nothing else here does: what to drink before noon. Subculture is specialty-grade Ethiopian Arabica, cold-extracted for 24 hours and infused with 10mg of hemp-derived Delta-9 from hemp grown on our own Colorado farm — no bulk distillate bought off a broker. Three cans: Black Cold Brew (250mg caffeine, 5 calories, zero sugar), Oat Milk Latte (200mg caffeine, dairy-free) and Hazelnut Latte (the sweet one, and the easiest hand-off to someone who says they do not like the taste of cannabis).
What it does that a seltzer cannot: the caffeine keeps you alert while the Delta-9 rounds off the jitter, so you get lift instead of anxiety and a clear head instead of a nap. Onset is about 15 minutes, duration roughly two hours. Every batch is third-party tested with the COA published, and it is the same can we pour behind the bar in South Florida. $59 for twelve, under five dollars a can, free shipping over $75.
Skip it if: you do not drink coffee, or you are shopping for an evening wind-down. For that, keep reading.
#2 — Cycling Frog: Best Seltzer for Beginners
Cycling Frog's seltzers run from 1mg up to 10mg per can, often paired with CBD, which makes it the easiest brand to climb the dose ladder with. The Black Currant 5mg (with 10mg CBD) is the right first THC drink for most adults: real fruit flavor, about 30 calories, a light, sociable buzz. The 50mg Raspberry Lemonade exists for the other end of the spectrum. Widely stocked and ships to most states; 6-packs from about $20.
#3 — Cann: Best Microdose
Cann built the "social tonic" category and still does it best. The classic can is 2mg THC + 4mg CBD in 8 ounces, roughly 30 calories, with grown-up flavors (Lemon Lavender, Grapefruit Rosemary, Blood Orange Cardamom). It is a one-drink-equivalent you can have three of over an evening without losing the plot. Hi Boy bumps it to 5mg THC / 15mg CBD. Around $5 a can; sold in liquor stores, Total Wine and online.
#4 — Wynk: Best Zero-Sugar Seltzer
Zero sugar, zero calories, 1:1 THC to CBD, and a dose for every level (2.5, 5 and 10mg). Wynk tastes like a LaCroix that happens to work, which is exactly what a lot of people want. Fast onset, clean finish, and one of the widest retail footprints in the category. Around $5 a can.
#5 — Cantrip: Best THC Soda
Cantrip is the brand to hand someone who wants a drink that tastes like a drink. The THC Cola is the best cannabis cola on the market and the Ginger Beer makes a legitimate mule. Seltzers at 2 and 5mg, sodas at 5 and 10mg, 12oz cans. 4-packs from about $17.
#6 — Daizy's: Best Value Soda
Daizy's Social Sodas are a full 10mg of Delta-9 in a 12oz can at the lowest per-can price of any 10mg drink we found: 12-packs run $42–47 at Total Wine, Spec's and similar, which lands around $3.50 a can. Strawberry Lemonade, Grape, Passion Fruit and Tropical Punch. They are sweet, soda-sweet, so this is not the pick for calorie counters, but on dollars per milligram it is hard to beat. Also makes 5mg "Social Sips" 2oz shots.
#7 — Brēz: Best Functional Tonic
Brēz layers 5mg THC and 10mg CBD on top of 2,200mg of lion's mane mushroom in a lemon-elderflower base, and the result is a noticeably different buzz: lucid and social rather than heavy. 2.5mg and 10mg versions exist. It is the drink people who "don't really like weed" end up liking. 12-packs from about $48.
#8 — Señorita: Best Mocktail
A Lime Jalapeño Margarita, a Paloma and a Mango Margarita, each 5 or 10mg and about 70 calories, that taste like the bartender made them. The best swap for anyone who misses the cocktail more than the alcohol. 4-packs from about $17.
#9 — Pamos: Best Canned Cocktail and Aperitivo
Pamos started in licensed California dispensaries in 2021 and moved to hemp-derived in 2023, which shows in the recipes: Peach & Guava Bellini, Mai Tai, Strawberry Margarita and Ranch Water spritzes in 7.5oz cans at 2, 5 or 10mg THC plus 2mg CBD. Their 750ml spirits (Microdose 2mg, Signature 5mg, Reserve 10mg per serving) run $35–60 a bottle. Strong in Florida, Georgia, Texas and the Carolinas, with nationwide shipping.
#10 — Nowadays: Best Spirit Alternative
Nowadays is a clear, fruit-forward THC spirit meant to be poured like vodka — 2mg per 1.5oz in the original, 10mg per pour in High Dose. Mix it, sip it neat, make a "cannabis and tonic." Bottles run roughly $50–80, which is steep per can-equivalent but cheap per cocktail if you are replacing a liquor cabinet.
#11 — High Rise: Best for the Liquor-Store Shopper
High Rise is the hemp seltzer you are most likely to find cold in a Total Wine or a bottle shop in the Southeast and Midwest. Clean 5–10mg seltzers plus a higher-dose premium line for people who have graduated past 10. Pricing varies by retailer, usually in line with Wynk and Cann.
#12 — Crescent 9: Best High-Dose Hemp Drink
New Orleans-based Crescent 9 does both ends: a 5mg variety 12-pack for about $30, and the 50mg cans (Grape Lemonade, Strawberry Lemonade, Raspberry Lime) that are the strongest widely available hemp drinks, around $100 for a variety pack. Their Ellora spirit is a bar-cart option at up to 340mg a bottle. Experienced users only on the 50s.
#13 — Uncle Arnie's: Best Dispensary Value
The 100mg Iced Tea Lemonade in an 8oz bottle for $5–10 at California, Oregon and Nevada dispensaries is the best milligram-per-dollar deal in cannabis beverages, full stop. It is also a bottle most people should sip over a night, not drink at once. Uncle Arnie's now ships a hemp-derived "Classic" line at 3, 5 and 10mg to about 38 states, multi-packs from around $60.
#14 — St. Ides: Best Heritage Brand
The malt-liquor name from the 90s came back as a California dispensary brand, and its High Tea line (100mg per bottle, about $10) is a cult favorite for the price. Dispensary-only in California, so this one is a destination buy, not a delivery.
Honorable Mention — Willie's Remedy
Willie Nelson's hemp line makes excellent whole-bean and ground CBD coffee, CBD teas and sparkling water. We list it because people search for it next to THC drinks and get confused: Willie's Remedy is non-intoxicating CBD. The THC-infused products under the Willie's name are the dispensary-only Willie's Reserve line in legal states. If you want the coffee ritual with a lift, that is the gap Subculture fills.
Brands we left off
Torch, Keef, Cheech & Chong and a dozen private-label hemp seltzers all exist. We only rank what we have tasted and can verify dosing and pricing on. If one of those is your favorite, tell us and we will add it to the next update.

THC Drinks vs Alcohol
The reason this category exists. A 5mg THC seltzer and a glass of wine occupy roughly the same social slot, but the seltzer has no hangover, no empty calories beyond what the recipe adds, and no ethanol. The trade-offs are real too: THC impairs driving just as alcohol does, dose response varies far more person to person, and stacking cans because "I don't feel it yet" is the single most common mistake. Our THC coffee vs alcohol piece goes deeper on the swap. Never mix the two in the same session.
Are THC Drinks Legal?
Hemp-derived Delta-9 drinks are federally legal today under the 2018 Farm Bill as long as the product stays at or under 0.3% Delta-9 THC by dry weight. Two things to know before you order. First, states set their own rules — some cap milligrams per can, some restrict hemp beverages to liquor channels, and a handful ban them outright; we keep a current state-by-state list on our hemp THC legal status page. Second, the federal definition of hemp changes on December 11, 2026 under Public Law 119-103, which caps total THC per container at a level no 5mg or 10mg can currently meets. Every hemp-derived brand on this list is working the same clock. Dispensary drinks (Uncle Arnie's 100mg, St. Ides) are unaffected because they were never hemp. This is general information, not legal advice. 21+ only.
Will a THC Drink Show Up on a Drug Test?
Yes. Every drink here contains real Delta-9 THC, and drug screens look for THC metabolites regardless of whether the source was hemp or a dispensary. A single 5mg can clears a urine screen in a few days for an occasional user; nightly cans do not. The full breakdown of detection windows by test type is in our drug test guide — it was written for delta 8 but the numbers are the same for Delta-9 drinks.
How We Ranked These Drinks
- Dose honesty. Published COA, milligrams that match the label, and no "up to" language.
- Onset and curve. Nano-emulsified THC with a 10–20 minute onset and a clean taper, not a two-hour creep.
- Taste. Would you drink it without the THC? If no, it did not rank.
- Price per serving. Dollars per can and dollars per milligram.
- Availability. Can you actually get it — shipped, in a liquor store, or only in a dispensary in one state.
Subculture is ours and we ranked it first; we also told you exactly who to buy instead if you do not want coffee. That is the deal.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best THC drink?
For mornings and daytime, Subculture THC coffee (10mg Delta-9 plus 200–250mg caffeine). For a first THC drink, a 5mg seltzer from Cycling Frog or Wynk. For a cocktail replacement, Señorita or Pamos. For the lowest price per milligram, Daizy's 10mg sodas by the 12-pack. The right answer depends on dose and time of day more than brand.
How many mg of THC should be in a drink for a beginner?
2–5mg. Start with half a 5mg can, wait 30 minutes, and go from there. 10mg is a full adult serving and more than most first-timers want.
How long do THC drinks take to kick in?
Usually 10–20 minutes, because the THC is water-soluble (nano-emulsified) and absorbs faster than a gummy. Peak around 45–60 minutes; most drinks taper by two hours. An empty stomach speeds it up.
Do THC drinks get you high?
Yes. Hemp-derived Delta-9 is the same molecule as dispensary THC. A 2mg can is a mild, wine-like lift; 10mg is a real high; 50–100mg is a lot.
Are THC drinks healthier than alcohol?
They avoid ethanol, hangovers and most of the calories, and THC has a far lower acute toxicity. They still impair driving and judgment, and the long-term research on regular THC use is thinner than it is for alcohol. "Different risks" is more accurate than "healthier."
Which THC drink is the strongest?
Among hemp drinks you can ship, Crescent 9's 50mg cans and Crescent's Ellora spirit (up to 340mg per bottle). In dispensaries, Uncle Arnie's and St. Ides 100mg bottles. None of these are a single serving.
Can you buy THC drinks online?
Hemp-derived ones, yes — Subculture, Cann, Wynk, Cycling Frog, Brēz, Pamos, Daizy's and most others ship to the majority of states (21+, ID check at delivery is common). Dispensary drinks cannot be shipped.
Do THC drinks need to be refrigerated?
Not before opening — they are shelf-stable like soda — but they taste better cold and should be kept out of heat and sunlight, which degrade THC. Finish an opened can within a day.
Is THC coffee different from other THC drinks?
It is the only format that combines caffeine with THC, so the effect is alert and lifted rather than relaxed and heavy. Subculture runs 10mg Delta-9 with 200–250mg caffeine per can; everything else on this list is caffeine-free.
Final Verdict
If you want one recommendation: start with a 5mg seltzer in the evening to learn your dose, and a Subculture can in the morning to see what THC does with caffeine behind it. Between those two you will know which end of the shelf is yours.
