Lizard Burger Strain

Lizard Burger Strain: The Burger Line Goes West

The Lizard Burger strain is a savory, gassy hybrid out of Oregon, most often listed as Hash Burger crossed with a cut called Lee-Hi Larry and commonly credited to Stardust Cultivation. It belongs to the family of "Burger" strains that grew out of GMO — but where most Burgers lean hard into garlic and onion, Lizard Burger smells like diesel, black pepper, star anise and a bright twist of citrus zest. It lifts the mood first, then relaxes the body, and it fits the gas-and-funk corner of our THCA flower collection.

It's also a young strain with a messy paper trail. Two different lineages circulate, nobody has published a breeder write-up, and potency claims run from the low 20s to the mid 30s. Below: what the sources actually agree on, where they split, what the one lab terpene result shows, how the high unfolds, how to use it, how to grow it, and how to judge a bag.

Lizard Burger Strain Genetics & Lineage

  • Type: Hybrid, with no consensus on the lean. Weedmaps calls it indica-dominant, one retailer blog lists it at 65% indica, Chronic Guru simply calls it a hybrid, and SeedsHereNow describes it as roughly 50/50.
  • Ancestry (most sources): Hash Burger × Lee-Hi Larry — the cross listed by Weedmaps, SeedsHereNow and the Oregon grower Pacific Grove.
  • Ancestry (alternate): Lizard King × Donny Burger, per Chronic Guru. SeedsHereNow notes that "some phenotypes are reported as Lizard King x Donny Burger."
  • Breeder: Stardust Cultivation, per SeedsHereNow; Weedmaps says the strain is "commonly attributed" to them. We could not find a breeder page or seed release to confirm it.
  • THC: Chronic Guru 22.3%; SeedsHereNow 23–30%; one Oregon lab result 28.5%; one retailer claims 30–34% for its batch.
  • CBD and minors: CBD is low to not detected. The Oregon lab result showed about 0.28% CBGa and 0.25% CBL.

Which lineage is right?

Honestly, nobody has settled it. The Hash Burger × Lee-Hi Larry version has more sources behind it — including a licensed Oregon grower's menu listing — so that's the one we lead with. The Lizard King × Donny Burger version shows up on fewer pages. Here's the useful part: both versions land in the same family. Hash Burger and Donny Burger are both descendants of the GMO-based Burger line, so either way Lizard Burger carries Burger-line gas and density.

The other parent is the mystery. We couldn't find a published pedigree for Lee-Hi Larry or for the Lizard King used here. The "Larry" in the name hints at a Larry OG connection, which would fit the lemon-pepper-citrus edge people describe — but that's an inference, not a documented fact.

Where it sits in the Burger family tree

Based on the lineages on our existing Burger pages:

  • Han Solo Burger: GMO Cookies × Larry OG — the first Burger, from Skunk House Genetics.
  • Donny Burger: GMO × Han Solo Burger — the first backcross, and a parent in Lizard Burger's alternate lineage.
  • Double Burger: GMO × Donny Burger, which led to Triple Burger.
  • Hashburger: Han Solo Hash Plant × Double Burger — Leafly's 2025 Strain of the Year, and Lizard Burger's main listed parent.

That places Lizard Burger a generation or two downstream of the original Burgers — a West Coast offshoot rather than a Skunk House release.

Lizard Burger Terpene Profile

Strain sites list three terpenes for Lizard Burger: caryophyllene, limonene and myrcene. The only actual lab terpene result we found — an indoor batch from the Oregon grower Pacific Grove, listed on a Portland delivery menu — puts them in a different order. It tested 2.89% total terpenes:

  • Myrcene 0.81%
  • Limonene 0.62%
  • Caryophyllene 0.22%
  • Terpineol 0.19%
  • Pinene 0.13%
  • Eucalyptol 0.10%

One batch is one batch, but nearly 3% total terpenes is a loud flower, and it explains the mix of earthy weight (myrcene), citrus brightness (limonene) and pepper (caryophyllene) that reviewers keep describing.

Terpene Profile — Relative Intensity

Myrcene — earthy, herbal, relaxed body

Limonene — citrus zest, mood lift

Caryophyllene — black pepper, gassy spice

Terpineol — floral, piney, soft

Pinene — pine, clarity

Relative profile from one Oregon lab result (Pacific Grove indoor, 2.89% total terpenes). Strain sites often list caryophyllene first — expect batch-to-batch variation.

  • Myrcene: Earthy, herbal and musky. It's the base of the profile and the likely source of the relaxed body finish.
  • Limonene: The citrus zest on the exhale, and part of why the first hour feels upbeat rather than heavy.
  • Caryophyllene: Black pepper and spice — the "burger seasoning" note that ties it to the rest of the Burger line.
  • Terpineol and pinene: Smaller players that add a floral-pine lift on top.

The star anise and "spiced meat" notes reviewers mention don't come from one terpene — they're the overall chemistry of a gas strain with this much pepper and herb in it.

Appearance

Lizard Burger grows dense, chunky buds with a thick coat of trichomes. Weedmaps describes forest-green coloring with dark purple undertones and bright orange pistils; SeedsHereNow adds olive-green accents and notes that some expressions pick up purple hues when nights run cool late in flower. Chronic Guru lists dark green buds with purple streaks. Expect firm, sticky nugs that need a grinder — though one hemp retailer's reviewers described a fluffier, less sticky batch, which is a reminder that grow and cure matter as much as genetics.

Aroma and Flavor

This is not a dessert strain. Crack a jar and diesel fuel hits first, followed by earthy herbs, black pepper, a skunky funk and, unusually, star anise. SeedsHereNow even lists "spiced meat" — fitting for a Burger. A twist of citrus zest sits on top. Chronic Guru describes the aroma as pungent, skunky and woody with hints of lemon, and Weedmaps adds garlic to the list.

  • Inhale: earthy diesel, herbal spice and savory funk with a peppery bite.
  • Exhale: brighter — citrus, black pepper, star anise and a lingering fuel finish.

Compared with its Burger relatives, Lizard Burger trades some of the garlic-and-onion funk for citrus and spice. If Hashburger is a smash burger, this one comes with a squeeze of lemon and a lot of cracked pepper.

Recreational Effects

Reports split on how heavy Lizard Burger gets, and the split tracks the lineage and lean debate. The common thread is a mood lift first and body relaxation second. Effects consumers report most often:

  • Euphoric: the most consistent effect across sources — a quick, upbeat mood lift.
  • Creative and focused: reported by SeedsHereNow and hemp-flower reviewers, especially early in the session.
  • Social: several reviews call it a hang-out strain — "relaxed but still engaged."
  • Relaxed: muscle tension eases and the body settles. SeedsHereNow calls it "functional rather than completely sedating."
  • Heavy, at higher doses: one retailer describes a "deep body melt" that can leave you "couch-locked for hours," and the Oregon grower suggests it for nighttime.

How the high unfolds: onset, peak and duration

  • First 5–10 minutes: a clear mood lift and a little pressure behind the eyes.
  • 15–60 minutes: the peak — euphoric, chatty and creative, with the body loosening up underneath.
  • 1–3 hours: a slow settle into calm. SeedsHereNow puts the main effects at two to three hours with lingering relaxation after that. Bigger doses push it toward the couch.

The practical takeaway: a hit or two keeps it social and functional; a full bowl turns it into an evening strain.

How Strong Is Lizard Burger?

Lizard Burger is a potent strain, but the published numbers are all over the place, and most are seller claims rather than lab results:

  • Chronic Guru: 22.3% THC.
  • SeedsHereNow: "commonly ranging from 23% to 30%."
  • Pacific Grove (Oregon indoor, lab-tested): 28.5% THC, with total cannabinoids of 32.9%.
  • Hemp THCA retailers: 23.5%, 26.8% and 30% THCA on three different listings.
  • One retailer blog: 30–34% — the high end, and a single seller's claim.

Realistically, expect the mid-to-high 20s from a well-grown batch. That's strong enough that newer consumers should go slowly, and it's in line with its Burger relatives — Donny Burger and Hashburger both run in the high 20s and up.

THCA flower is labeled differently from dispensary flower: the lab reports THCA, which converts to THC when heated, plus a small amount of delta-9 THC. When you compare a batch of Lizard Burger against the 22–30% range above, compare total THC on the COA, not the headline number — our guide on how to read a THCA flower COA walks through the math.

Lizard Burger vs Similar Strains

  • vs Hashburger: the main listed parent. Hashburger is heavier, more onion-and-hash, and more sedating; Lizard Burger is brighter, more citrus-and-pepper, and more social at a low dose.
  • vs Donny Burger: the parent in the alternate lineage. Donny is garlic, onion and cheese with a heavy indica finish; Lizard Burger is less garlicky and more diesel-forward.
  • vs Han Solo Burger: the original Burger, with a lemon-pine edge from Larry OG. The closest flavor cousin in the family.
  • vs Triple Burger: the most GMO-heavy Burger — butter, blue cheese and garlic, and much sleepier. Lizard Burger is the lighter-on-its-feet sibling.
  • vs Mule Fuel: a GMO × Lurch with diesel, chemical and skunky funk and a heavier, sleepier body. Same gas family, fewer citrus notes — and it's our closest match in stock.
  • vs Sour Diesel: if the diesel-and-citrus side is what you're after, Sour Diesel is the energetic benchmark — without the Burger body.

Who Lizard Burger Is (and Isn't) For

Good fit: fans of gas and savory strains who are tired of candy and dessert profiles; experienced consumers who want an upbeat start and a relaxed finish; late-afternoon and evening social sessions.

Poor fit: beginners, anyone who wants a sweet or fruity smoke, and people looking for a clear-headed morning strain. If the Burger gas is what draws you, Mule Fuel is the heavier, gassier pick on our shelf; for funk with a bit more sweetness, Permanent Marker starts from $29.

How to Use Lizard Burger THCA Flower — and How Much

THCA has to be heated to do anything. Raw, it isn't intoxicating; heat converts it to THC (decarboxylation), which is why the method matters as much as the strain.

  • Smoking (joint, pipe, bong): the fastest onset. Take one or two small hits, then wait 10–15 minutes before deciding on more.
  • Dry-herb vaporizer: the best way to catch the citrus and star anise under the diesel. Around 350–375°F keeps it bright and social; 390–410°F brings out the pepper and the heavier body.
  • Pre-rolls: the no-prep option — see our THCA pre-rolls.
  • Homemade edibles: decarb the flower first. Edibles take 30–120 minutes to kick in and last far longer, so start low and wait the full two hours.

How much? New or occasional users: one small puff, then wait 15–30 minutes — this strain can run near 30%. Regular users usually find two or three hits gives the full lift-then-settle arc without tipping into couch-lock. You can always add more; you can't take it back.

Medicinal Benefits

These are uses consumers and retailers report, not established clinical outcomes. Individual response varies with dose, tolerance and chemotype.

  • Stress: the most common reason people reach for it, consistent with the euphoric, relaxing profile.
  • Low mood: reviewers describe an upbeat, positive lift early in the session.
  • Physical tension: SeedsHereNow lists muscle relaxation and "full-body ease."
  • Winding down: at higher doses, some sellers recommend it for evenings and sleep.

For a plain-language primer on how terpenes are thought to shape these effects, see Project CBD on terpenes. Nothing here is medical advice, and nothing on this page is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. If you take prescription medication or have a health condition, talk to your doctor before using any cannabis product.

Side Effects and Cautions

  • Dry mouth and dry eyes — the usual suspects with any potent flower.
  • Anxiety or racing thoughts — possible at high doses or low tolerance, given the potency.
  • Couch-lock and grogginess — reported at bigger doses, so plan your evening accordingly.
  • Dizziness — usually a sign you took too much, too fast.

Is Lizard Burger good for sleep? At a low dose it's more social than sleepy; at a high dose it can be. Don't drive after using it, and talk to your doctor first if you take prescription medication, are pregnant or nursing, or have a heart condition.

Is Lizard Burger Top Shelf? How to Judge a Good Bag

  • Ask about the lineage. A good seller knows which Lizard Burger they have — Hash Burger × Lee-Hi Larry or Lizard King × Donny Burger — and who grew it.
  • A current third-party COA naming the lab, with THCA, delta-9 and total THC. Treat 34% claims without paperwork as marketing. Ours are on the lab results page.
  • Diesel and pepper. The nose should be loud — gas, spice and a citrus edge. Flat, grassy or mostly sweet means something's off.
  • Density and frost. Chunky, sticky nugs with trichomes inside the bud, not just on the surface.
  • A proper cure — hay or grass smell means it was rushed.

Growing Lizard Burger

Lizard Burger is a clone-world strain — we didn't find a widely sold seed release — so most growers will be working from a cut. Weedmaps rates it easy to moderate; SeedsHereNow calls it moderate.

  • Flowering: 8–10 weeks indoors (Weedmaps and SeedsHereNow agree).
  • Outdoors: harvest early to mid-October in the Northern Hemisphere. It suits indoor, light-dep and outdoor grows.
  • Height and structure: medium indoors; outdoors it roughly doubles in size during flower and spreads wide. Weedmaps notes a disconnected cola structure with three to five tops per node, so airflow matters.
  • Training: topping, low-stress training, SCROG and selective defoliation help open up the canopy and prevent moisture problems in those dense buds.
  • Yield: moderate to heavy with consistent feeding and stable conditions — no reliable gram figures are published.
  • Color: cooler late-flower nights can bring out the purple hues.

Is Lizard Burger THCA Flower Legal?

Under the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp is federally legal when it contains no more than 0.3% delta-9 THC on a dry-weight basis — see the USDA hemp program. THCA flower is sold under that rule. State laws differ and are changing, so check your state before you order. And whatever the label says, THCA flower will show up on a drug test — heated, it is THC.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Lizard Burger indica or sativa?

Lizard Burger is a hybrid, and sources disagree on the lean. Weedmaps calls it indica-dominant and one retailer lists it at 65% indica, while SeedsHereNow describes it as roughly 50/50. Its effects — a mood lift first, then body relaxation — fit a balanced-to-indica-leaning hybrid.

What is Lizard Burger a cross of?

Most sources, including Weedmaps, SeedsHereNow and an Oregon grower's listing, say Hash Burger × Lee-Hi Larry. Chronic Guru lists it as Lizard King × Donny Burger. Either way, it descends from the GMO-based Burger line.

Who bred Lizard Burger?

It's commonly attributed to Stardust Cultivation in Oregon, per Weedmaps and SeedsHereNow. We couldn't find a breeder release that confirms it.

How strong is Lizard Burger?

Most sources put it at 23–30% THC; one Oregon lab result showed 28.5%. Listings range from 22.3% to a claimed 30–34%. Expect the mid-to-high 20s from a good batch, and start small.

What does Lizard Burger taste like?

Diesel and earthy spice on the inhale, with black pepper, star anise and citrus zest on the exhale. It's savory, not sweet — closer to a seasoned burger than a dessert.

What are the effects of Lizard Burger?

Consumers most often report euphoria, creativity, focus and relaxation. Low doses feel social and functional; high doses can turn heavy and couch-locking.

What terpenes are in Lizard Burger?

Strain sites list caryophyllene, limonene and myrcene. One Oregon lab result showed myrcene (0.81%), limonene (0.62%) and caryophyllene (0.22%) leading, with terpineol, pinene and eucalyptol behind them, at 2.89% total terpenes.

Is Lizard Burger good for daytime use?

It works best from late afternoon into the evening. A small dose stays upbeat and social; a big one pulls you toward the couch.

Is Lizard Burger good for sleep?

At higher doses, it can be — one Oregon grower suggests it for nighttime. At low doses it's more relaxing than sedating.

Is Lizard Burger good for beginners?

Not really. It can test near 30%, and at least one seller calls it not recommended for beginners. If you try it, take one small puff and wait 15–30 minutes.

How long does Lizard Burger take to flower?

About 8–10 weeks indoors, with outdoor harvests in early to mid-October. Its multi-top cola structure needs good airflow.

Is Lizard Burger the same as Hashburger?

No. Hashburger (Han Solo Hash Plant × Double Burger) is Lizard Burger's most commonly listed parent. Hashburger is heavier and more onion-and-hash; Lizard Burger is brighter, with more citrus and pepper.

Where can I buy Lizard Burger THCA flower online?

Lizard Burger isn't in the Diesel Hemp shop right now. The closest match is Mule Fuel THCA Flower — a GMO Cookies cross with the same Burger-family gas and a relaxing, indica-leaning body, from $65, third-party lab tested, with free shipping over $75.
