Pink Guava Strain: The Clone Behind RS11 and Zoap
The Pink Guava strain is a hybrid selected by Deo Farms of Oakland, California, from a hunt through OZ Kush seeds — OZ Kush being an OG Kush × Zkittlez line. It smells like guava candy with grapefruit and apricot, carries a faint OG fuel underneath, and delivers a calm, giggly, relaxed high. It's best known as a parent: Deo Farms used it to make RS11, RS54 and Zoap, three of the most hyped candy strains of the last few years.
It's also a name with more than one strain behind it. Weedmaps lists a Greenline cross of Pink Panties × Gelato 45 under the same name, and a Canadian brand sells a Nepali Pink × Guava "Pink Guava." Below: which Pink Guava is which, what the potency numbers actually mean, the terpene picture, how the high unfolds, how it compares with Guava and Strawberry Guava, how to use it, how to grow it and how to judge a bag. - Type: Hybrid. Leafly says its effects are "mostly calming"; AllBud lists it as a balanced 50/50 hybrid that energizes the mind while relaxing the body.
- Ancestry: A selection from OZ Kush seeds from Dying Breed Seeds, per Leafly. Leafly lists OZ Kush itself as OG Eddy Lepp × Zkittlez, and SeedFinder's family tree shows the same OG × "The Original Z" root through an Oz Kush F2 from DEO Farms.
- Breeder: Deo Farms (also written DEO Farms), Oakland, CA. SeedFinder files it under clone-only strains.
- THC: AllBud lists 28–30%. Leafly publishes no THC figure for Pink Guava — see "How strong is Pink Guava?" below.
- CBD: Negligible; no source lists a meaningful amount.
- Aliases: PGv (Leafly's abbreviation).
Where Pink Guava came from — and how it got the name
Leafly's description is short and direct: Pink Guava is "a breeding strain from Deo Farms of Oakland, CA" and "a selection from a hunt through seeds of OZ Kush." In other words, it isn't a two-parent cross of its own — it's one keeper plant picked out of an OZ Kush seed run, chosen for a nose that leaned hard into tropical fruit. A Leafly feature on RS-11 says the strain was named after a guava juice of the same name, which fits the candy-sweet, pink-fruit aroma people describe.
Because it was kept as a clone rather than released as seeds, real Pink Guava moved cut to cut through California growers. That's why grow data on it is thin, and why the name was easy for others to reuse.
Which Pink Guava is which?
This is the biggest source of confusion on the SERP. At least four different things are sold as Pink Guava:
- Deo Farms' Pink Guava — the OZ Kush selection on Leafly and SeedFinder, and the one behind RS11, RS54 and Zoap. This page is mostly about it.
- Greenline's Pink Guava — Weedmaps lists Pink Panties × Gelato #45 from Greenline, a California cultivator, calls the lineage "not well documented," and describes it as one of the variations of the Guava strain with a "tart tropical berry flavor."
- A Canadian Pink Guava — sold in Ontario under the Dealr brand as Nepali Pink × Guava, indica-dominant.
- AllBud's Pink Guava — listed only as "an unknown combination of other deliciously fruity hybrid strains."
Pink Guava is also not the same as Guava (a Gelato-family phenotype) or Strawberry Guava (Strawberry Banana × Papaya). Pink Guava Runtz is another separate menu name. If the lineage matters to you, ask the seller which one it is.
The Pink Guava family: RS11, RS54 and Zoap
Pink Guava's legacy is its offspring. Deo Farms crossed it with Sunset Sherbert, and Wizard Trees of Los Angeles selected two keepers from that work: RS11 and RS54 (Rainbow Sherbert #11 and #54). RS-11 was the runner-up for Leafly's Strain of the Year in 2023. Deo Farms then crossed Pink Guava back with RS-11 to make Zoap, the floral, soapy candy strain. SeedFinder also lists Guava Rift (GLK Genetics), Pink Sherbert (Medical Seeds Co) and Sweet Seeds' Pink Guava F1 Fast Version as descendants. Note that the classic Rainbow Sherbet (Champagne × Blackberry) is a different strain from the RS cuts.
Pink Guava Terpene Profile
No major database publishes lab terpene data for Pink Guava itself, so here is what can be said honestly. Its parent line, OZ Kush, is limonene-led with caryophyllene and myrcene, per Leafly. Its best-known offspring, RS11, leads with caryophyllene, then limonene and humulene. And the flavors reviewers report — grapefruit, citrus, apricot and sour candy — point toward limonene at the top, with a peppery caryophyllene floor that explains the faint diesel some people taste. For the caryophyllene angle, a 2008 PNAS study identified beta-caryophyllene as a "dietary cannabinoid" that binds CB2 receptors.
Terpene Profile — Relative Intensity
Limonene — grapefruit, citrus and candy brightness
Caryophyllene — pepper and the faint OG fuel
Myrcene — ripe fruit depth, the relaxed body
Humulene — earthy, herbal edge
Estimated relative profile for Pink Guava — inferred from its OZ Kush parent and RS11 offspring on Leafly. No strain-level lab profile is published; check the COA on any batch.
- Limonene: The grapefruit-and-citrus top note and the likely driver of the giggly, happy onset.
- Caryophyllene: Peppery and a little gassy — the OG side showing through, and the lead terpene in RS11.
- Myrcene: Musky, ripe-fruit depth under the guava, and part of the calm body.
- Humulene: The earthy, herbal edge AllBud picks up in the aroma.
The guava itself isn't one terpene. It's the whole mix, plus the Zkittlez candy side of OZ Kush. Some guava-forward strains also carry ocimene and linalool, which add sweet, floral notes — a hint of where Zoap's floral "soap" nose comes from.
Appearance
AllBud describes "piecey, airy" forest-green nugs with pink undertones, pink-orange hairs and a coat of tiny golden-amber trichomes. Weedmaps' entry for the Greenline version describes dark green buds with amber trichomes and pink marbling. Either way, the pink in the name shows up in the bud: look for rosy tones in the calyxes and bright, coral-to-orange pistils. The resin is a big part of why breeders kept working with it — both RS11 and Zoap are prized by hash makers.
Aroma and Flavor
Pink Guava smells like a tropical candy store. Leafly's top flavors are apricot, grapefruit and citrus; AllBud tags it citrus, sour, sweet, fruity and tropical, with "hints of guava and tree fruit" on the taste and a sweet-and-sour tropical scent with spicy earth notes in the jar. Leafly reviewers add peach and a candy aftertaste, and a few notice a little diesel on the hit — the OG side of OZ Kush coming through. One reviewer quoted in Leafly's RS-11 feature called the family's "candy guava sour citrus flavor profile" one of the best they'd had in 30 years. Not everyone loves it: one Leafly reviewer found a batch "straight like grapefruit." The inhale is sweet guava and citrus; the exhale is tart grapefruit, apricot and a light pepper finish.
Recreational Effects
Pink Guava is more mellow than its RS11 offspring. Leafly reviewers (4.4 stars from 45 ratings) report these effects most:
- Relaxed: the most common description — "a gentle, relaxing high! calming and blissful," as one reviewer put it.
- Giggly and happy: a light, sociable mood lift; AllBud calls it "giggly and heady at times."
- Aroused: one of Leafly's top three listed effects.
- Uplifted and creative: AllBud says it energizes the mind while relaxing the body; some reviewers mention focus.
- Sleepy at higher doses: several reviewers mention naps, and one AllBud reviewer reported couch-lock.
How the high unfolds: onset, peak and duration
- First 5–10 minutes: a gentle lift rather than a rush — one Leafly reviewer called it "not that fast hitting."
- 15–60 minutes: the peak — happy, giggly and calm, with the body loosening up.
- 1–3 hours: a relaxed taper. Bigger doses lean sleepy or couch-locked.
Indica or sativa?
Pink Guava is a hybrid. Leafly calls its effects "mostly calming," while AllBud lists it 50/50 with an uplifting head and a relaxing body. In practice it behaves like a balanced, slightly indica-leaning hybrid: bright and social at a low dose, calm and heavy at a high one. Its offspring RS11 is usually described as the more uplifting of the two.

How Strong Is Pink Guava?
Hard numbers on Pink Guava are scarce, so treat any single figure with care:
- AllBud: 28–30% THC — the only strain-level figure from a major database.
- Leafly: no THC figure published for Pink Guava.
- RS11 (its offspring): about 24% THC and 1% CBG on Leafly.
- OZ Kush (its parent line): about 24% THC and 2% CBG on Leafly.
- Sweet Seeds' Pink Guava F1 (a hybrid, not the clone): 17–25% THC per the breeder.
Is Pink Guava strong? A well-grown cut likely lands in the low-to-mid 20s, with top batches higher — but the effect is gentler than the number suggests. Leafly's reviewers call it relaxing and "not overwhelming." That said, AllBud says it's "often chosen by experienced patients," and one reviewer described it as a strain that will "rock your world and then go couch lock." For comparison, our Straw Gua Mintz lists 25–30% THCA on its product page.
THCA flower is labeled differently from dispensary flower: the lab reports THCA, which converts to THC when heated, plus a small amount of delta-9 THC. When you compare a batch of Pink Guava against the low-20s to 30% range above, compare total THC on the COA, not the headline number — our guide on how to read a THCA flower COA walks through the math.
Pink Guava vs Similar Strains
- vs RS11: its best-known offspring, with Sunset Sherbert. More sherbet candy and more OG gas, and a brighter, more uplifting high. If you liked Pink Guava, RS11 is the next step up.
- vs Zoap: Pink Guava × RS-11. Keeps the candy fruit and adds a floral, soapy nose.
- vs Guava: a separate Gelato-family strain — creamier and more uplifting, with no OZ Kush gas.
- vs Strawberry Guava: Strawberry Banana × Papaya — more strawberry, more resin and a heavier, hungrier body. It's the parent of our closest match.
- vs Straw Gua Mintz: Strawberry Guava × Kush Mints. The same guava-candy fruit with a cool, gassy mint exhale. Our closest match in stock, from $29.
- vs Zkittlez: the candy grandparent. Zkittlez is more grape-and-berry; Pink Guava trades that for guava and grapefruit.
- vs Papaya: another tropical-fruit benchmark — muskier and heavier, with less citrus.
Who Pink Guava Is (and Isn't) For
Good fit: fruit-and-candy flavor fans; afternoon-to-evening sessions; social smoking; anyone who wants a calm high that isn't knockout heavy at a normal dose.
Poor fit: people who want a sharp, all-day sativa, or anyone who dislikes grapefruit-forward flavor. For a brighter citrus lift, Dayglow Mousse is the sativa-leaning pick on our shelf; for ripe strawberry with a faint gas finish, Strawberry 2.1, from $22.
How to Use Pink Guava THCA Flower — and How Much
THCA has to be heated to do anything. Raw, it isn't intoxicating; heat converts it to THC (decarboxylation), which is why the method matters as much as the strain.
- Smoking (joint, pipe, bong): the fastest onset. Take one or two small hits, then wait 10–15 minutes before deciding on more.
- Dry-herb vaporizer: the best way to taste the guava and grapefruit. Around 350–380°F keeps the citrus and fruit top notes; 390–410°F brings out the peppery OG body.
- Pre-rolls: the no-prep option — see our THCA pre-rolls.
- Homemade edibles: decarb the flower first. Edibles take 30–120 minutes to kick in and last far longer, so start low and wait the full two hours.
How much? New or occasional users: one or two small puffs, then wait 15–30 minutes before taking more. Regular users usually find two or three hits delivers the full arc. You can always add more; you can't take it back.
Medicinal Benefits
These are uses consumers report on Leafly and AllBud, not established clinical outcomes. Individual response varies with dose, tolerance and chemotype.
- Anxiety: the most-cited reason, about 20% of Leafly reviewers.
- Stress: about 18% — one reviewer calls it "a go to strain for stress."
- Pain: about 13% on Leafly; AllBud also lists chronic pain.
- Sleep and low mood: AllBud lists insomnia, depression and fatigue among the uses its users report.

Side Effects and Cautions
- Dry mouth and dry eyes — Leafly's most-reported negatives.
- Dizziness — also on Leafly's list, usually from overdoing it.
- Couch-lock and sleepiness — at higher doses.
Is Pink Guava good for sleep? At higher doses many reviewers find it relaxing enough for a nap or the end of the night; at low doses it's more giggly than sleepy. Don't drive after using it, and talk to your doctor first if you take prescription medication, are pregnant or nursing, or have a heart condition.
How to Judge a Good Bag of Pink Guava
- Ask which Pink Guava. Deo Farms' OZ Kush selection, Greenline's Pink Panties × Gelato 45, or something else? A good seller knows.
- Guava and grapefruit you can smell through the bag. Plain earth with no fruit means a weak cut or a bad cure.
- Pink tones and frost. Rosy calyxes, coral-orange pistils and trichomes all the way into the bud.
- A current third-party COA naming the lab, with THCA, delta-9 and total THC. Treat 30%+ claims without paperwork as marketing. Ours are on the lab results page.
- A proper cure. Citrus terpenes fade fast; a hay or grass smell means it was rushed.
Growing Pink Guava
The original Pink Guava is a clone-only cut, and Deo Farms has never published grow specs for it, so there are no official flowering or yield numbers. What's known:
- Clones, not seeds: SeedFinder lists it under clone-only strains. You need a cut from a trusted source, and fakes are common.
- Seed alternatives: Sweet Seeds sells Pink Guava F1 Fast Version (Pink Guava × Red Gorilla Girl XL Auto), a photoperiod hybrid the breeder rates at about 7 weeks indoors (6–8), 400–550 g/m² indoors and a mid-to-late September outdoor finish. That's the hybrid's data, not the clone's.
- Resin: it's a hash-friendly line — its RS11 and Zoap offspring are known for heavy resin — so handle buds gently and dry slowly to keep the trichomes and the citrus.
- Structure: AllBud's "piecey, airy" bud description suggests good airflow matters to avoid larfy lower growth; defoliate and lollipop the bottom third.
