Singapore Sling Strain: A Tropical, Citrus-Forward Daytime Sativa
The Singapore Sling strain is a sativa-leaning hybrid bred by Tiki Madman — the Michigan breeder behind Space Runtz and Detroit Runtz — from Creamsicle and Tiki Cookies. Like the gin-and-cherry cocktail it's named after, it's bright, fruity and a little exotic: orange and vanilla from the Creamsicle side, tropical fruit, nuts and spice from Tiki Cookies, and a limonene-led terpene profile. Leafly lists it at 27% THC and describes its effects as "mostly energizing." It belongs in the bright-citrus corner of our THCA flower collection.
It's a newer, smaller strain than most on menus, so the data is thin and the databases don't fully agree — on which Creamsicle was used, on what "Tiki Cookies" actually is, and on how sativa it leans. Below: what's well documented, where the sources split, how the high unfolds, how to use it, how to grow it, and how to judge a bag.
A 360° look at Singapore Sling's frosty buds.

- Type: Sativa-leaning hybrid. Weedmaps and SeedFinder call it sativa-dominant; GrowDiaries lists it 60% sativa / 40% indica; Leafly's header says "hybrid," while its own description calls it sativa-dominant.
- Ancestry: Creamsicle × Tiki Cookies — the cross every major database agrees on.
- Breeder: Tiki Madman, credited by Leafly, Weedmaps, SeedFinder and GrowDiaries. Weedmaps describes the breeder as Michigan-based.
- THC: Leafly, GrowDiaries and a Washington-grown Plaid Jacket batch all list 27%. Weedmaps doesn't give a number, only that it's "on the high end."
- Other cannabinoids: Leafly lists about 3% CBG; GrowDiaries lists 0.1% CBD.
- Seeds: Regular only — SeedFinder says it "is/was never available as feminized seeds."
- Aliases: Leafly abbreviates it "SSl." Numbered phenotypes such as "Singapore Sling #9" show up on some dispensary menus.
Where the lineage gets messy
The cross is agreed. What sits inside each parent isn't:
- Which Creamsicle? Several strains share the name. Leafly's genetics widget links Singapore Sling to Orange Creamsicle; Leafly's separate Creamsicle page is Terraform Genetics' Orange Crush × Juicy Fruit; and SeedFinder's family tree traces its Creamsicle through Cream Caramel lines instead. Tiki Madman hasn't published which cut was used, and Tiki Madman has used Creamsicle in several other crosses.
- What is Tiki Cookies? SeedFinder writes the cross as "Creamsicle x Tiki Cookies (Tropicana Banana)," marks the parentage "probably," and traces Tropicana Banana to Tropicana Cookies × Banana Kush. Leafly's own Tiki Cookies page tells a different story: Cookies Kush × Tiki Rain, breeder unknown. Tiki Rain is also a Tiki Madman strain, so either route keeps it in the breeder's family — but they are not the same plant.
- How sativa is it? The databases range from "hybrid" to "sativa-dominant." The reported effects — energetic, focused, euphoric — settle the practical question: it behaves like a daytime sativa for most people.
If the Tropicana Banana reading is right, Singapore Sling carries Tangie and GSC genetics through Tropicana Cookies — which fits its orange-forward nose and its limonene lead.
Why it's called Singapore Sling
The strain is named for the cocktail. Per Difford's Guide, the Singapore Sling was created by Ngiam Tong Boon at the Long Bar in Singapore's Raffles Hotel sometime between 1899 and 1915 — a gin sling with cherry brandy, later dressed up with pineapple, lime and grenadine. Tiki Madman's catalog is full of tiki-bar names, and the flower's tropical-citrus profile earns this one. For another cocktail-named tropical strain, see Mai Tai.
Offspring
SeedFinder lists one documented descendant: Chi-Chi from Kickflip Genetics, a Singapore Sling × Sauvignon Blanc cross.
Singapore Sling Terpene Profile
Leafly lists limonene as the dominant terpene, followed by myrcene and linalool. SeedFinder names myrcene, limonene and caryophyllene as dominant, and GrowDiaries lists myrcene on top. No major database publishes a lab-tested terpene breakdown for the strain, so read the chart as a consensus, not a certificate. Limonene is the citrus terpene behind most orange-forward strains; a 2008 PNAS study separately identified caryophyllene as a "dietary cannabinoid" that binds CB2 receptors.
Terpene Profile — Relative Intensity
Limonene — orange citrus, the bright lift
Myrcene — tropical fruit, earthy body
Linalool — floral, tea-like calm
Caryophyllene — pepper and spice
Typical relative profile for Singapore Sling — limonene-led per Leafly. SeedFinder and GrowDiaries put myrcene closer to the top, so some batches will read more tropical than citrus.
- Limonene: The orange-citrus top note from the Creamsicle side and the terpene most associated with Singapore Sling's upbeat, energetic onset.
- Myrcene: Ripe, tropical and earthy — it carries the fruit and gives the body a soft floor under the head high.
- Linalool: Floral and lavender-like; likely part of the "tea" note Leafly's reviewers pick up and the calm that keeps the energy from feeling jittery.
- Caryophyllene: The peppery, spicy edge on the exhale — the "spice" Weedmaps credits to the Tiki Cookies side.
The creamy vanilla isn't one terpene — it's the Creamsicle side's overall chemistry, and it's louder in some cuts than others.
Appearance
Weedmaps describes dense, bright green buds threaded with orange pistils, a coat of crystal trichomes and sticky resin. The orange hairs against lime-green calyxes suit the citrus name. Some growers' photos show darker green or faint purple hints on cooler-finished batches, but that's a growing trait, not a defining one.
Aroma and Flavor
Open a jar and you get orange and citrus first, then tropical fruit and a creamy vanilla sweetness behind it — the Creamsicle half at work. Break a bud and the Tiki Cookies side comes through: earthy, nutty, a little woody and spicy. Leafly's users tag the flavor nutty, tropical and tea; Weedmaps describes "citrus orange and creamy vanilla" with "earthy nuttiness and spice"; GrowDiaries notes the aroma reads woodier than the taste.
Brands describe their own batches a little differently. Plaid Jacket's Washington-grown flower lists vanilla, kush and citrus on the nose and ginger, lime and root beer on the palate. urbanXtracts' version adds berry and sweet notes. That spread is normal for a newer strain grown from regular seeds — phenotypes vary, and so do growers' palates. The common thread is bright citrus over something creamy or nutty, finishing clean.
Recreational Effects
Singapore Sling is a get-up-and-go strain. Leafly describes its effects as "mostly energizing," and its reviewers' top effects are:
- Energetic: the headline effect — one reviewer reports feeling "more energized" than after waking up.
- Focused: clear-headed enough for work, chores or study.
- Euphoric and happy: a steady mood lift rather than a racy rush.
- Creative: GrowDiaries and Weedmaps both list creativity among its top effects.
- Tingly and relaxed: Weedmaps notes a tingly body feel, and some reviewers say it relaxes them as it winds down.
How the high unfolds: onset, peak and duration
- First few minutes: a bright, uplifting head change — Weedmaps says it can produce a strong high "within a few hits."
- 15–60 minutes: the peak — energetic, focused and euphoric, with a light, tingly body.
- 1–3 hours: a gentle comedown. One Leafly reviewer says that "if you let it, it will relax you and help put you to sleep too."
Not everyone finds it overwhelming: one reviewer says it "doesn't make me super high." Batch and phenotype matter more than the name here.

How Strong Is Singapore Sling?
Strong. Leafly, GrowDiaries and Plaid Jacket's Washington batch all list 27% THC, and Leafly flags it as an ideal choice for experienced consumers. Weedmaps doesn't publish a number but calls its THC "on the high end." Some unsourced online guides quote a lower 18–23% range; with no lab named, treat that as a guess. Leafly also lists about 3% CBG, which is higher than most strains carry.
Felt strength is another matter. Singapore Sling's limonene-forward, energizing character means it hits the head more than the body, and reviewers range from "strong high within a few hits" to "doesn't make me super high." Expect a potent, sativa-style strain and judge each batch on its paperwork.
THCA flower is labeled differently from dispensary flower: the lab reports THCA, which converts to THC when heated, plus a small amount of delta-9 THC. When you compare a batch of Singapore Sling against the around 27% range above, compare total THC on the COA, not the headline number — our guide on how to read a THCA flower COA walks through the math.
Singapore Sling vs Similar Strains
- vs Orange Creamsicle: the orange-and-vanilla side of the family. Orange Creamsicle is the simpler dessert; Singapore Sling adds tropical fruit, nuttiness and more energy.
- vs Tropicana Cookies: the likely grandparent if Tiki Cookies is Tropicana Banana. Tropicana Cookies is sharper and more purely orange; Singapore Sling is creamier and more tropical.
- vs Space Runtz and Detroit Runtz: Tiki Madman stablemates. Both lean candy-sweet and more balanced; Singapore Sling is the citrus, daytime option.
- vs Mai Tai: another cocktail-named tropical strain from a different family — similar mood, different genetics.
- vs Green Crack: a Leafly reviewer compares the two, warning that "if GC gives you a headache, this will too." Green Crack is the more electric of the pair.
- vs Dayglow Mousse: our closest in-stock match. It's a sativa-leaning citrus hybrid from the Agent Orange family — bright orange up front, a creamy dessert note underneath and a functional daytime lift. It won't have Singapore Sling's nutty, tea-like Tiki Cookies side.
Who Singapore Sling Is (and Isn't) For
Good fit: experienced consumers who want a potent daytime strain; morning or afternoon sessions, creative projects, errands and workouts — Plaid Jacket suggests it for running and hiking; fans of citrus and tropical flavors.
Poor fit: beginners on a 27% batch, anyone prone to THC anxiety or headaches, or someone looking for a heavy sleep strain. For a fruit-forward option that's easier to dose, Strawberry 2.1 is the lighter pick on our shelf.
How to Use Singapore Sling THCA Flower — and How Much
THCA has to be heated to do anything. Raw, it isn't intoxicating; heat converts it to THC (decarboxylation), which is why the method matters as much as the strain.
- Smoking (joint, pipe, bong): the fastest onset. Take one or two small hits, then wait 10–15 minutes before deciding on more.
- Dry-herb vaporizer: the best way to taste the orange and vanilla before the spice takes over. Around 350–375°F keeps the limonene and linalool bright; 390–410°F brings out the nutty, peppery finish.
- Pre-rolls: the no-prep option — see our THCA pre-rolls.
- Homemade edibles: decarb the flower first. Edibles take 30–120 minutes to kick in and last far longer, so start low and wait the full two hours.
How much? New or occasional users: one or two small puffs, then wait 15–20 minutes — this is a 27% strain listing. Regular users usually find two or three hits gets them to the energetic peak without tipping into jitters. You can always add more; you can't take it back.
Medicinal Benefits
These are uses consumers report on Leafly, not established clinical outcomes. Individual response varies with dose, tolerance and chemotype.
- Low mood: the most-cited reason — about 35% of Leafly reviewers mention depression.
- Anxiety: about 29% report help, though "anxious" is also one of its listed negatives, so dose matters.
- Fatigue: about 24%, consistent with its energizing headline effect. One reviewer uses it in the morning after a night shift.
- Stress: GrowDiaries lists stress alongside depression, fatigue and anxiety.

If you take prescription medication or have a health condition, talk to your doctor before using any cannabis product.
Side Effects and Cautions
- Dry mouth and dry eyes — the most common complaints on Leafly and GrowDiaries.
- Anxiety — listed among Leafly's negatives, more likely at high doses or low tolerance.
- Headache or dizziness — dizziness is listed by GrowDiaries, and one Leafly reviewer reports headaches.
Is Singapore Sling good for sleep? Not usually — it's an energizing strain, though some people find it relaxing on the comedown. Don't drive after using it, and talk to your doctor first if you take prescription medication, are pregnant or nursing, or have a heart condition.
Is Singapore Sling Top Shelf? How to Judge a Good Bag
- Ask about the source. A good seller knows whether it's Tiki Madman genetics and, ideally, which phenotype (some menus list numbered cuts like #9).
- A current third-party COA naming the lab, with THCA, delta-9 and total THC. Ours are on the lab results page.
- Citrus on the nose. A real Singapore Sling smells bright — orange, tropical fruit, a creamy or nutty edge. Flat earth with no citrus suggests an old or mislabeled jar.
- Bright green buds, orange pistils, heavy frost — and resin that's sticky to the touch.
- A proper cure. One Leafly reviewer buys from a specific grower because they "cure it right" — hay or grass smell means it was rushed.
Growing Singapore Sling
Grow data for Singapore Sling is limited. It's only available as regular seeds from Tiki Madman, per SeedFinder, so expect to sex plants and hunt phenotypes, or start from a clone.
- Flowering: GrowDiaries describes a "rather short flowering period" but gives no number; one unsourced guide claims 10–12 weeks. Plan for at least 9 weeks and watch the trichomes.
- Yield: GrowDiaries rates it high.
- Height: medium-high per GrowDiaries — typical sativa-leaning stretch, so top or train early.
- Indoors and outdoors: SeedFinder lists it for both. Warm, dry finishes suit its tropical ancestry.
- Seeds: regular only, never feminized (SeedFinder).

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Singapore Sling indica or sativa?
Singapore Sling is a sativa-leaning hybrid. Weedmaps and SeedFinder call it sativa-dominant, GrowDiaries lists it 60% sativa / 40% indica, and Leafly labels it a hybrid while describing its effects as mostly energizing.
What is Singapore Sling a cross of?
Creamsicle × Tiki Cookies, bred by Tiki Madman. SeedFinder equates Tiki Cookies with Tropicana Banana (Tropicana Cookies × Banana Kush), while Leafly's Tiki Cookies page lists Cookies Kush × Tiki Rain — so the deeper lineage is disputed.
Who bred Singapore Sling?
Tiki Madman, the Michigan breeder also behind Space Runtz, Detroit Runtz and Dante's Inferno, according to Leafly, Weedmaps, SeedFinder and GrowDiaries.
How strong is Singapore Sling?
Leafly, GrowDiaries and a Washington-grown Plaid Jacket batch all list 27% THC, and Leafly lists about 3% CBG. It's best suited to experienced consumers — start small and check the COA.
What does Singapore Sling taste like?
Orange citrus and creamy vanilla up front, then tropical fruit, nuts and spice. Leafly's reviewers tag it nutty, tropical and tea; Weedmaps describes citrus orange, creamy vanilla and earthy nuttiness.
What are the effects of Singapore Sling?
Leafly's top reported effects are energetic, focused and euphoric. Weedmaps adds creative and a tingly body feel. It's a daytime strain for most people.
What terpenes are in Singapore Sling?
Leafly lists limonene as dominant, followed by myrcene and linalool. SeedFinder names myrcene, limonene and caryophyllene. No published lab breakdown exists for the strain.
Why is it called Singapore Sling?
It's named after the Singapore Sling cocktail, created by Ngiam Tong Boon at the Raffles Hotel's Long Bar in Singapore — fitting for a tropical, fruit-forward strain from a breeder with a tiki theme.
Is Singapore Sling good for anxiety?
It's mixed. About 29% of Leafly reviewers say it helps with anxiety, but 'anxious' is also among its listed negatives. Low doses are the safer approach.
Is Singapore Sling good for sleep?
Not usually — it's energizing. Some reviewers say it relaxes them as it wears off, but it's a morning-to-afternoon strain for most.
Is Singapore Sling good for beginners?
Not really — most listings put it at 27% THC. If you try it, take one small puff and wait 15–20 minutes before more.
Are there feminized Singapore Sling seeds?
No. SeedFinder says it was never released as feminized seeds — Tiki Madman's version is regular seeds only, so most growers hunt phenotypes or start from clones.
Where can I buy Singapore Sling THCA flower online?
Singapore Sling isn't in the Diesel Hemp shop right now. The closest match is Dayglow Mousse THCA Flower — a sativa-leaning citrus hybrid with a bright orange nose, a creamy dessert note and an energetic daytime lift, from $29, third-party lab tested, with free shipping over $75.
