Gorilla Cookies Strain: Glue Resin Meets Thin Mint Cookies
The Gorilla Cookies strain is exactly what the name promises: Gorilla Glue #4 crossed with the Thin Mint cut of Girl Scout Cookies. Leafly and SeedFinder both credit Elev8 Seeds with the cross. It smells nutty, minty and earthy with GG4's diesel and pine underneath, carries THC from the high teens to the upper 20s, and hits in two stages — a quick, euphoric head high, then a relaxed body. It sits in the gassy, Cookies-family corner of our THCA flower collection.
It's also a strain with more than one version on the market. Several seed companies sell a "Gorilla Cookies," not every one uses the Thin Mint cut, and the databases split on whether it leans sativa or indica. It's often mixed up with Gorilla Breath, too. Below: what's documented, where the sources disagree, how the high unfolds, what the potency numbers mean, how to use it, how to grow it, and how to judge a bag.
A 360° look at Gorilla Cookies's frosty buds.
Quick Facts
In short: A cross of Gorilla Glue #4 and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies, credited to Elev8 Seeds. Nutty, minty and earthy on the nose with GG4's diesel and pine behind it. A fast, euphoric, creative head high first, then a relaxed body that gets heavier with dose — resinous, potent and not built for beginners.
- Type: Hybrid — AllBud and Leafwell list 70% sativa; SeedStockers sells an indica-dominant version; Leafly users report mostly calming effects. See indica vs sativa
- Lineage: Gorilla Glue #4 × Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies (most sources); some seed versions use generic GSC
- Breeder: Elev8 Seeds (Leafly, SeedFinder). Seed Stockers, Tastebudz and Fast Buds (autoflower) sell their own versions.
- THC: Leafly 21%; AllBud 21%+; Leafwell 18–28%; one Illinois batch tested 21.87% THCA
- Dominant terpene: Caryophyllene per Leafly, with limonene and myrcene
- Flavor: Nutty · mint · earthy · pine · diesel · sweet spice
- Best for: Afternoon to evening, mood, music, appetite

Gorilla Cookies Strain Genetics & Lineage
- Type: Hybrid, with no agreement on the lean. AllBud and Leafwell list it 70% sativa / 30% indica, SeedFinder's Elev8 entry says "mostly sativa," Seed Stockers calls its version indica-dominant, and Leafly's reviewers mostly report relaxed, calming effects.
- Ancestry: Gorilla Glue #4 × Thin Mint GSC. Per SeedFinder, Elev8 reversed a Thin Mint female and used it to pollinate a GG4 female.
- Breeder: Elev8 Seeds, per Leafly and SeedFinder. Seed Stockers (GG4 × GSC), Tastebudz and the autoflower houses Fast Buds and High Speed Buds sell their own takes.
- THC: Leafly lists 21%; AllBud 21%+; Leafwell 18–28%. An Aerīz batch reviewed in Illinois tested 21.87% THCA.
- Minor cannabinoids: Leafly lists about 1% CBG; Leafwell gives 0.08–0.84% CBG and trace THCV and CBC. CBD is negligible.
- Aliases: Gco (Leafly's code). Leafly lists Frosty Kong and King Cone as offspring.
The two parents
Gorilla Glue #4 is the famously sticky Chem's Sister × Sour Dubb × Chocolate Diesel hybrid. That Chemdawg and Sour Diesel ancestry is where Gorilla Cookies gets its diesel, its resin and its heavy finish.
Thin Mint GSC is one of the original Girl Scout Cookies phenotypes — the minty, frosty cut that also gave us Gelato (Sunset Sherbet × Thin Mint). It brings the mint, the nutty sweetness and the euphoric Cookies head high.
SeedFinder's breeder note says phenotypes "range between Gorilla Glue and Thin Mint dominant" — and adds, "This strain is LOUD!" That spread explains most of the conflicting reports: a Glue-leaning plant smokes gassier and heavier, a Thin Mint-leaning one sweeter, mintier and more upbeat.
Gorilla Cookies vs Gorilla Breath (and other Gorilla names)
They share a parent, not a recipe. Gorilla Breath is GG4 × OGKB (OG Kush Breath), from Humboldt Seed Organization — chocolate, vanilla and diesel, and clearly indica-leaning. Gorilla Cookies uses the Thin Mint cut instead, so it reads nuttier and mintier, with a more upbeat start. Both are GG4 kids with a GSC phenotype on the other side, which is why menus confuse them. And "Gorilla Cookies Auto" is a separate autoflowering line from Fast Buds and others, not the Elev8 photoperiod plant.
Gorilla Cookies Terpene Profile
Leafly lists caryophyllene as the dominant terpene, followed by limonene and myrcene. A lab-tested Aerīz batch in Illinois showed the same top three plus humulene, and Leafwell adds pinene and ocimene as minor players. That's a classic GG4-and-Cookies stack: pepper and fuel on top, citrus lift in the middle, an earthy, relaxed floor.
Terpene Profile — Relative Intensity
Caryophyllene — pepper, spice, diesel backbone
Limonene — citrus-mint lift, mood
Myrcene — earthy, relaxed body
Humulene — woody, nutty dryness
Typical relative profile for Gorilla Cookies — caryophyllene-led per Leafly and a lab-tested Illinois batch. Thin Mint-leaning cuts often read brighter and more limonene-forward.
- Caryophyllene: The peppery, clove-and-fuel backbone. It's the one common terpene known to bind CB2 receptors directly.
- Limonene: The citrus-mint brightness from the Thin Mint side, and a big part of the euphoric start.
- Myrcene: Earthy and musky; it carries the relaxed body that deepens as the session goes on.
- Humulene: Woody and dry, and a likely contributor to the nutty, roasted note reviewers keep mentioning.
The "mint" in Gorilla Cookies isn't one terpene — it's the Thin Mint cut's overall chemistry, and it's much louder in Thin Mint-leaning phenotypes than in Glue-leaning ones.
Appearance
AllBud describes small, rounded, minty-green nugs with deep purple undertones, thick reddish-orange hairs and a coat of tiny, frosty white trichomes. Other sources describe dense, medium-sized, firm buds with olive-green bases and purple streaks in cool finishes. Either way, expect resin: this is a Glue kid, and Leafly notes resin-coated buds that harden after curing.
Aroma and Flavor
Open a jar and the first hit is earthy, herbal and spicy, with sweet mint and a nutty, baked-cookie note behind it. Break a bud and the GG4 side gets louder — pine, hash, diesel and pepper. SeedFinder's growers describe pine and hashish; AllBud lists herbal, menthol, nutty, spicy and sweet; Leafly's top flavors are mint, nutty and earthy. One Leafly reviewer compared the vapor to "vaporizing a walnut."
The inhale tends toward mint, citrus and earthy pine; the exhale is diesel, clove and nutty spice. Low vape temperatures bring out the sweet, minty side; combustion and high temps push it toward gas and pepper.
Recreational Effects
Gorilla Cookies runs in two stages. The head high comes first — fast, euphoric and clear enough to keep going — and the body relaxation follows close behind and builds with each hit. The most-reported effects across Leafly, AllBud and published reviews:
- Euphoric and happy: the headline effect — a quick, strong mood lift.
- Relaxed: Leafly's top-reported feeling; a warm, loose body that gets heavier with dose.
- Creative and uplifted: AllBud's users lead with creativity — good for music, art and conversation.
- Hungry: a reliable case of the munchies.
- Sleepy: at higher doses or late in a session, not usually at the start.
How the high unfolds: onset, peak and duration
- First 5–10 minutes: a fast head change — euphoric, giggly and chatty.
- 15–60 minutes: the peak — head high and body calm together. Leafly describes it as a "one-hitter quitter" for a reason.
- 1–3 hours: a gradual settle. Keep smoking and the Glue side takes over — heavier body, more couch.
That two-stage shape is why sleep and energy reports conflict: small doses read upbeat, big ones read sedating.

How Strong Is Gorilla Cookies?
Gorilla Cookies is potent but not a record-chaser. The published numbers:
- Leafly: 21% THC and about 1% CBG — "higher THC than average."
- AllBud: 21%+.
- Leafwell: 18–28%.
- A retail Illinois batch (Aerīz): 21.87% THCA and 0.23% delta-9 THC on the label.
- Autoflower versions: Leafly lists Fast Buds' Gorilla Cookies Auto at 28%.
So expect the low to mid 20s from a good photoperiod batch, with the strongest Glue-leaning cuts pushing higher. What makes it feel stronger than the number is the stacking: the head high and the body hit arrive close together, and both build with each pull. AllBud reviewers flag it as "not for beginners," and Leafly describes it as a one-hitter quitter.
THCA flower is labeled differently from dispensary flower: the lab reports THCA, which converts to THC when heated, plus a small amount of delta-9 THC. When you compare a Gorilla Cookies batch against the 18–28% range above, compare total THC on the COA, not the headline number — our guide on how to read a THCA flower COA walks through the math.
Gorilla Cookies vs Similar Strains
- vs Gorilla Glue #4: the gassier, heavier parent. Gorilla Cookies is sweeter, nuttier and mintier, with a brighter start.
- vs Girl Scout Cookies: the sweeter, more euphoric parent line. Gorilla Cookies adds GG4's diesel, resin and body weight.
- vs Gorilla Breath: GG4 × OGKB — chocolate, vanilla and diesel, and more sedating. Same parent, different strain.
- vs Gelato: a Thin Mint sibling (Sunset Sherbet × Thin Mint). Fruitier and creamier, with no Glue gas.
- vs Mule Fuel: GMO × Lurch — GMO is Chemdawg × GSC, so it shares Gorilla Cookies' Chem-and-Cookies roots. Mule Fuel is gassier and garlickier, with no mint, and more indica-leaning. It's the closest match on our shelf for the gas and the relaxing finish, not the sweet mint.
- vs GMO: the garlic-heavy Chem × Cookies cross — savory rather than sweet, and heavier.
Who Gorilla Cookies Is (and Isn't) For
Good fit: experienced smokers who want a euphoric start and a relaxed landing; afternoon and evening sessions, music, food; fans of nutty, minty, gassy flavors.
Poor fit: beginners, anyone prone to THC anxiety, or someone who needs a clear head for hours — the body side builds fast. If you want the brighter, daytime version of this experience, Dayglow Mousse is the more upbeat option on our shelf, from $29.
How to Use Gorilla Cookies THCA Flower — and How Much
THCA has to be heated to do anything. Raw, it isn't intoxicating; heat converts it to THC (decarboxylation), which is why the method matters as much as the strain.
- Smoking (joint, pipe, bong): the fastest onset. Take one or two small hits, then wait 10–15 minutes before deciding on more.
- Dry-herb vaporizer: the best way to taste the mint and nutty sweetness. Around 350–375°F keeps the Thin Mint side; 390–410°F brings out the GG4 gas and body.
- Pre-rolls: the no-prep option — see our THCA pre-rolls.
- Homemade edibles: decarb the flower first. Edibles take 30–120 minutes to kick in and last far longer, so start low and wait the full two hours.
How much? New or occasional users: one small puff, then wait 15–30 minutes — Leafly calls it a one-hitter quitter. Regular users usually find two or three hits delivers the full arc without tipping into couch-lock. You can always add more; you can't take it back.
Medicinal Benefits
These are uses consumers report on Leafly and AllBud, not established clinical outcomes. Individual response varies with dose, tolerance and chemotype.
- Anxiety: the most-cited reason on Leafly (about 26%) — though high doses can do the opposite, so start small.
- Stress: about 24% of Leafly reviewers.
- Pain: about 21%; AllBud also lists chronic pain.
- Low mood and appetite: AllBud lists depression and nausea, and the munchies are well documented.

Side Effects and Cautions
- Dry mouth and dry eyes — Leafly's top negatives.
- Dizziness — listed on Leafly, usually from overdoing it.
- Anxiety or racing thoughts — some AllBud reviewers report nervous energy at high doses.
- Couch-lock — the Glue side shows up as you keep smoking.
Is Gorilla Cookies good for sleep? At low doses it's more euphoric than sleepy; it gets sedating with repeat hits. Don't drive after using it, and talk to your doctor first if you take prescription medication, are pregnant or nursing, or have a heart condition.
Is Gorilla Cookies Top Shelf? How to Judge a Good Bag
- Ask whose cut it is. Elev8's Thin Mint cross, a generic GG4 × GSC seed line, or an autoflower are different plants. A good seller knows.
- A current third-party COA naming the lab, with THCA, delta-9 and total THC. Treat 30%+ claims without paperwork as marketing. Ours are on the lab results page.
- Mint and nuts over gas. If it smells like straight diesel with no sweetness, it's a Glue-dominant pheno or a different strain.
- Frost and stickiness, with trichomes inside the bud, not just on top.
- A proper cure — hay or grass smell means it was rushed.
Growing Gorilla Cookies
Gorilla Cookies is a manageable grow with a big stretch. Leafwell calls it suitable for beginners; SeedFinder's growers note that it "likes to stretch in flower."
- Flowering: about 8–10 weeks. SeedFinder lists about 63 days for Elev8's version and about 56 days for Seed Stockers'; Leafwell says 9–10 weeks.
- Yield: Leafwell gives 1.6–2.0 oz per square foot indoors and 2–11 oz per plant outdoors; other guides report 450–600 g/m² under good LEDs.
- Height: about 30–40 inches indoors per Leafwell. It grows wide — top it and use low-stress training.
- Outdoors: harvest from early September to early October in the Northern Hemisphere.
- Seeds: Elev8 Seeds, Seed Stockers and Tastebudz photoperiod versions exist, plus Fast Buds and High Speed Buds autoflowers that finish in about 10 weeks from seed.

What is Gorilla Cookies a cross of?
Gorilla Glue #4 × Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies, credited to Elev8 Seeds by Leafly and SeedFinder. Some seed companies use a generic GSC cut instead of Thin Mint.
How strong is Gorilla Cookies?
Leafly lists 21% THC, Leafwell 18–28%, and one Illinois retail batch tested 21.87% THCA. It hits fast and stacks, so start with one small puff.
What does Gorilla Cookies taste like?
Mint, nuts and earth up front, then pine, diesel, clove and pepper from the Gorilla Glue side. Reviewers often describe it as nutty, even walnut-like.
How does Gorilla Cookies make you feel?
Euphoric, happy and creative first, then relaxed and hungry. At higher doses the body side takes over and it can get sleepy.

Is Gorilla Cookies good for anxiety?
It's mixed. About 26% of Leafly reviewers say it helps with anxiety, but some AllBud reviewers report nervous energy at high doses. Low doses are the safer approach.
