Sherb Cream Pie Strain

Sherb Cream Pie Strain: Ice Cream Cake Meets Sherbet

The Sherb Cream Pie strain — SCP on dispensary menus — is an indica-leaning hybrid made from Ice Cream Cake crossed with Sherb Bx1, a backcross of Sunset Sherbet. It smells like vanilla cream and lemon sherbet with a candy-gas edge, starts happy and social, and finishes heavy and sleepy. AllBud puts it at 22–28% THC. It sits in the dessert-and-gas corner of our THCA flower collection.

It's also a strain with a fuzzy paper trail. The cross is well documented; who made it isn't. Below: the full family tree, what each parent brings, the breeder question, how the high unfolds, how strong it really is, how to use it, how to grow it, and how to judge a bag.

Sherb Cream Pie Strain Genetics & Lineage

  • Type: Indica-dominant hybrid. AllBud and GrowDiaries both list it at about 70% indica / 30% sativa; Leafly calls it a "potent indica hybrid."
  • Ancestry: Ice Cream Cake × Sherb Bx1. Leafly explains that "Bx1" means Sherbert "backcrossed" one time — bred back onto itself to lock in its best traits.
  • Grandparents: per SeedFinder's genealogy, Ice Cream Cake is Gelato #33 × Wedding Cake, and Sherb Bx1 is Sunset Sherbert × (Sunset Sherbert × Animal Cookies Bx2).
  • Breeder: disputed — see below.
  • THC: AllBud 22–28%; Pro Gro lists 23–25%; GrowDiaries 20–28%. Leafly doesn't publish a number.
  • CBD: Negligible — GrowDiaries lists 0.1%.
  • Aliases: SCP. Leafly's own copy misspells it "Sherm Cream Pie" once — same strain.

Who bred Sherb Cream Pie?

Nobody has a clean answer, and we won't invent one. GrowDiaries credits Seed Junky Genetics, the LA breeder behind both parents — SeedFinder attributes Ice Cream Cake, Sherb Bx1, Wedding Cake and Animal Cookies Bx2 to Seed Junky. But SeedFinder files Sherb Cream Pie itself under "Unknown or Legendary," and Maine grower Rugged Roots says the original breeder is undocumented. What we can say for certain: both halves of the cross come from Seed Junky's dessert library, so the strain is Seed Junky genetics whoever made the final cross.

One more conflict worth naming. New Jersey dispensary Union Chill, which stocks the Niche brand's cut, describes Sherb Cream Pie as "a descendant of Gelato and Wedding Pie genetics." The Gelato part holds up — Ice Cream Cake's mother is Gelato #33 — but no database we checked lists Wedding Pie in the tree. The Wedding Cake grandparent is the likely source of the mix-up.

What each parent brings

  • Ice Cream Cake: the vanilla-cream nose, the dense dessert sweetness and most of the heavy body. It's the reason SCP leans sleepy.
  • Sherb Bx1: the citrus-sherbet brightness, the candy-gas edge and the happy, social onset — Sunset Sherbet's signature, doubled down by the backcross.

Today Sherb Cream Pie is grown by a long list of licensed brands — Weedmaps listings show it from Heavy Hitters, Pro Gro, NOBO, 3 Bros, High Minded and others — so expect real variation between jars.

Sherb Cream Pie Terpene Profile

Leafly lists caryophyllene, myrcene and limonene for Sherb Cream Pie; grower Pro Gro and Rugged Roots both list caryophyllene, limonene and linalool. That's a classic dessert-hybrid stack: peppery-warm base, citrus top note, and a soft floral finish. No public lab dataset gives reliable terpene percentages for this strain, so treat the chart below as a relative guide.

Terpene Profile — Relative Intensity

Caryophyllene — pepper, warmth, the gassy base

Limonene — lemon-sherbet brightness

Myrcene — earthy, heavy body

Linalool — floral, calming finish

Typical relative profile for Sherb Cream Pie — caryophyllene-led per Leafly and grower listings. Individual cuts vary.

  • Caryophyllene: Peppery and warm, it carries the gas and spice under the dessert. It's also the only common terpene known to bind directly to CB2 receptors.
  • Limonene: The lemon and citrus-sherbet note from the Sherb side, and part of the happy, social onset.
  • Myrcene: Earthy and musky; it underwrites the heavy body and the sleepy back half.
  • Linalool: Floral and lavender-like, reported by growers as the smooth, soft finish.

The "cream" and "vanilla" people taste aren't one terpene — they're the Ice Cream Cake side's overall chemistry, and they're strongest in a slow-cured jar.

Appearance

Expect a dessert-strain look with some variation by grower. AllBud describes "oversized and fluffy spade-shaped emerald-green nugs with lots of thin orange hairs" under golden-white trichomes. Leafly describes "frosty, purple dapples," and Maine grower Rugged Roots reports deep green buds with purple hues. Cool nights during flower bring out more purple. Either way, a good SCP is heavily frosted — the resin is a big part of its appeal.

Aroma and Flavor

Open the jar and it's dessert first: vanilla, sweet cream and cake, then a sour lemon-sherbet top note. Break a bud and the gas shows up — Leafly describes popular "candy-gas" smells, and one reviewer calls the terps "cakey gassy sweet." AllBud describes "a sweet and creamy cake overtone accented by sour, citrusy lemon gelato and a hint of nuttiness," with woody pine and spice on the nose. Theory Wellness calls it "tropical cake batter" with "gassy accents," and Union Chill's customers describe vanilla sherbet, citrus and cookie dough. Leafly's top flavor tags are simply vanilla, sweet and earthy.

The inhale is creamy vanilla and citrus; the exhale is nutty, earthy and slightly peppery. One Leafly reviewer warns the flavor lingers — in a good way.

Recreational Effects

Leafly sums it up as "mostly calming." Its most-reported effects are:

  • Relaxed: the headline effect — a body calm that builds with every hit.
  • Happy: an easy mood lift in the first stretch.
  • Euphoric: a warm, cozy head high rather than a racy one.
  • Sociable and uplifted: AllBud and Pro Gro both list a social, uplifting edge early on.
  • Sleepy: the finish, especially at higher doses.

How the high unfolds: onset, peak and duration

  • First 5–10 minutes: AllBud describes a slow onset — a heaviness behind the eyes before anything else.
  • 15–60 minutes: the peak — happy, chatty and relaxed, with senses turned up. One Leafly reviewer says warm feels extra warm and food tastes better.
  • 1–3 hours: the body takes over. The relaxation deepens and, at higher doses, ends in sleep.

Because it creeps, wait a full 10–15 minutes before deciding you need more.

How Strong Is Sherb Cream Pie?

Strong, but not in the "strongest strain ever" conversation. The published numbers:

  • AllBud: 22–28% THC.
  • Pro Gro (grower): 23–25%.
  • GrowDiaries: commonly 20–28%, with 24% as its headline figure.
  • Rugged Roots (Maine grower): its own cut at 15–18%.

That spread is the real lesson: with this many brands growing it, the jar matters more than the name. A well-grown, slow-cured batch in the mid-20s is a genuinely heavy indica-leaning hybrid. A budget cut at 15–18% is a mellow dessert smoke. Leafly's description calls it a "potent indica hybrid," and one reviewer says a couple of puffs is enough to get comfortable and fall asleep.

THCA flower is labeled differently from dispensary flower: the lab reports THCA, which converts to THC when heated, plus a small amount of delta-9 THC. When you compare a Sherb Cream Pie batch against the 15–28% range above, compare total THC on the COA, not the headline number — our guide on how to read a THCA flower COA walks through the math.

Sherb Cream Pie vs Similar Strains

  • vs Ice Cream Cake: the creamy, sleepy parent. SCP keeps the vanilla and the heavy finish but adds citrus-sherbet brightness and a more social start.
  • vs Sunset Sherbet: the source of the Sherb Bx1 side — fruitier and more balanced, with less cream and less couch.
  • vs Sherb Cake: a close cousin built from the same Sherbet-meets-cake idea. Both are dessert-forward and relaxing; Sherb Cream Pie usually reads creamier and more vanilla.
  • vs Permanent Marker: another Sherb Bx descendant — (Biscotti × Sherb Bx) × Jealousy — with a loud, chemical-gas nose instead of cream. One Leafly reviewer who tried both calls Permanent Marker the more sedative of the two. It's in stock on our shelf from $29.
  • vs Lemon Cherry Gelato: Sunset Sherbet × GSC — the same Sherbet backbone and cookie ancestry, with cherry and lemon in place of vanilla. It's our closest match in stock.
  • vs Sherbanger and Rainbow Sherbet: other Sherbet-family dessert strains — fruitier, less creamy, generally less sleepy.

Who Sherb Cream Pie Is (and Isn't) For

Good fit: evening smokers who want a flavorful dessert strain that winds the day down; fans of Ice Cream Cake or Gelato who want a little more citrus; anyone looking for a strain that ends in sleep.

Poor fit: daytime productivity, or anyone who needs to stay sharp — the second half is heavy. Beginners should start with one small puff. If you want the Sherbet flavor with a lighter finish, Lemon Cherry Gelato is the brighter option on our shelf.

How to Use Sherb Cream Pie THCA Flower — and How Much

THCA has to be heated to do anything. Raw, it isn't intoxicating; heat converts it to THC (decarboxylation), which is why the method matters as much as the strain.

  • Smoking (joint, pipe, bong): the fastest onset. Take one or two small hits, then wait 10–15 minutes before deciding on more.
  • Dry-herb vaporizer: the best way to taste the vanilla and lemon before the gas takes over. Around 350–375°F keeps the citrus and cream; 390–410°F brings out the heavier, sleepier side.
  • Pre-rolls: the no-prep option — see our THCA pre-rolls.
  • Homemade edibles: decarb the flower first. Edibles take 30–120 minutes to kick in and last far longer, so start low and wait the full two hours.

How much? New or occasional users: one or two small puffs, then wait 15 minutes — this one creeps. Regular users usually find two or three hits delivers the full arc; save bigger sessions for bedtime. You can always add more; you can't take it back.

Medicinal Benefits

These are uses consumers report on Leafly and AllBud, not established clinical outcomes. Individual response varies with dose, tolerance and chemotype.

  • Stress: the most-cited reason on Leafly (about 33% of reviewers).
  • Anxiety: about 29% of Leafly reviewers report help — low doses are the usual approach.
  • Pain: about 25% of Leafly reviewers; one describes an evening "blissfully pain free."
  • Sleep: AllBud tags insomnia, and the sleepy finish is the most consistent theme in reviews.
  • Low mood and headaches: also tagged by AllBud users.

Side Effects and Cautions

  • Dry mouth and dry eyes — Leafly's top negatives. One reviewer calls the cottonmouth "ROUGH," so keep water close.
  • Headache — Leafly's third most-reported negative.
  • Dizziness or heavy fatigue — reported on GrowDiaries and AllBud, usually from overdoing it.
  • Couch-lock — at higher doses, plan to stay put.

Is Sherb Cream Pie good for sleep? For most people, yes — it's one of the more consistently sleepy dessert hybrids. Don't drive after using it, and talk to your doctor first if you take prescription medication, are pregnant or nursing, or have a health condition. One AllBud reviewer with a seizure history reported a bad reaction, so anyone with a neurological condition should get medical advice before trying it.

Is Sherb Cream Pie Top Shelf? How to Judge a Good Bag

  • Ask who grew it. With so many brands running SCP, the grower matters more than the name. A good seller can tell you.
  • A current third-party COA naming the lab, with THCA, delta-9 and total THC. The real range runs from the high teens to the high 20s. Ours are on the lab results page.
  • Cream and citrus and gas. Real SCP has all three. Flat sweetness with no gas, or pure earth, suggests a weak cut or a poor cure.
  • Heavy frost, with trichomes inside the bud, not just on top.
  • A proper cure — the vanilla fades fast in rushed flower. Hay or grass smell is a red flag.

Growing Sherb Cream Pie

Sherb Cream Pie is a vigorous plant that rewards training. One r/microgrowery thread calls it "one of the gnarliest plants" the grower had run, and Leafly notes it "stretches a relatively high amount" in flower.

  • Flowering: about 8–9 weeks — GrowDiaries lists 56–63 days; Leafly says nurseries report the standard 9 weeks.
  • Yield: about 550 g/m² indoors and up to roughly 700 g per plant outdoors in good conditions, per GrowDiaries.
  • Structure: a medium, bushy frame that stretches hard after the flip. Top early and use a trellis or SCROG.
  • Color: cool night temperatures late in flower bring out the purple.
  • Seeds and clones: we found no breeder-verified seed release, so SCP mostly circulates as clones and grower cuts. Hobby breeders have also reversed it to make new crosses.

Is Sherb Cream Pie THCA Flower Legal?

Ice Cream Cake × Sherb Bx1. Ice Cream Cake is Gelato #33 × Wedding Cake; Sherb Bx1 is Sunset Sherbet backcrossed once, with Animal Cookies Bx2 in its background.

Who bred Sherb Cream Pie?

It's disputed. GrowDiaries credits Seed Junky Genetics, which bred both parents, but SeedFinder lists the strain's breeder as unknown and some growers say it's undocumented.

Leafly's most-reported effects are relaxed, happy and euphoric. Users describe a slow, social mood lift that turns into heavy body relaxation and, at higher doses, sleep.

AllBud lists 22–28% THC and GrowDiaries 20–28%, though individual cuts have tested as low as 15–18%. Check the COA for total THC on the batch you're buying.

What does Sherb Cream Pie taste like?

Vanilla cream and sweet cake up front, sour lemon-sherbet citrus on top, and a nutty, earthy, gassy exhale. Leafly users also describe a candy-gas smell.

Is Sherb Cream Pie good for sleep?

For most people, yes. The back half of the high is heavy and sleepy, and AllBud users tag it for insomnia. Use it in the evening.

Ice Cream Cake is the creamy, sleepy parent. Sherb Cream Pie keeps the vanilla and the heavy finish but adds lemon-sherbet brightness and a happier, more social start from its Sherb Bx1 side.

How long does Sherb Cream Pie take to flower?

About 8–9 weeks (56–63 days) indoors. It stretches hard after the flip, so top or train it early.

Where can I buy Sherb Cream Pie THCA flower online?
